Summer Trainee for Mechanical Engineering

We are looking for one or two Mechanical Engineering students (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) to join our team. Our Mechanical Engineering team designs and maintains cryogen-free dilution refrigerators and their components and subsystems. We also participate in various product development and R&D projects. This position will support your studies, give you valuable work experience in high-tech product manufacturing, and help you grow as a future professional.
As a Mechanical Engineer, your tasks will vary based on your experience and our project needs during the summer. You will contribute to product development projects by supporting design work, creating and updating detailed manufacturing drawings, and improving data quality in our PLM system (Windchill). Your role will require precision, systematic thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
You are a Mechanical Engineering student (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) with experience in 3D modeling software and a solid understanding of manufacturing drawings, including geometric tolerances and common manufacturing processes. Familiarity with PDM systems is considered an advantage. Strong communication and teamwork skills, the ability to work independently, and a positive, hands-on attitude are essential for success in this role.

During the summer your main responsibilities might be
Support design work in product development projects
Create and update detailed manufacturing drawings
Improve data quality and migrate data to our PLM system (Windchill)
What we expect from you
You are at least second year Mechanical Engineering student (B.Sc. or M.Sc.)
Experience with 3D modeling software
Knowledge of manufacturing drawings (including geometric tolerances) and common manufacturing processes
Familiarity with PDM systems is a plus
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and systematically
Positive, hands-on attitude
