Cryo Engineer, Scientist

Currently, we have several Cryo Engineer positions open. As a Cryo Engineer, you will work at the core of our cryogenic technology, becoming part of our Acceptance, Integration and Testing team of 15 highly skilled professionals. Our Cryo Engineers come from strong physics and technology backgrounds (M.Sc. and PhD), and in this role you will get the chance to work hands‑on with world‑class high‑quality technology in an international environment. Your tasks will include versatile system‑level assembly and testing of cryogenic dilution refrigerators, ensuring that every system meets our high standards before delivery. You will carry out temperature sensor calibration below 10 mK and participate in factory acceptance testing to guarantee optimal performance. In addition, you will perform on-site installations at customer facilities around the world.
We are looking for people with a strong educational background—preferably an M.Sc. or higher degree in applied or technical physics—combined with excellent communication skills. To succeed in this role, you take initiative, have a hands‑on attitude, and work in a systematic and detail‑oriented manner. You are committed to high quality, can make independent decisions when needed, and feel comfortable working in English in an international setting.

Main responsibilities:
Versatile system‑level assembly and testing of cryogenic dilution refrigerator systems
Temperature sensor calibration below 10 mK
Factory acceptance testing to ensure system quality
On‑site installation and commissioning at customer locations worldwide
High‑quality documentation of work steps and system performance
Collaboration with customers during commissioning, representing Bluefors professionally
What we expect from you
M.Sc. or higher degree in applied or technical physics
Experience or strong interest in hands‑on technical or laboratory work
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with customers
A hands‑on, proactive, and systematic working style
Ability to make independent decisions and take ownership of tasks
Strong command of English, both written and spoken

Experience in experimental physics or cryogenic/low‑temperature environments
