Stockroom Associate

We are looking for a Stockroom Associate to join our team at Bluefors in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will support our manufacturing operations by receiving, organizing, and moving materials, parts, and supplies throughout the facility. Your tasks will include receiving and inspecting incoming deliveries from parcel and common carriers, verifying part numbers, quantities, and purchase order information against packing slips. You will identify and document any damaged materials and notify the appropriate teams for resolution. Using our ERP system, you will pick parts from warehouse locations and prepare them for delivery to production areas, ensuring materials are accurately issued and transferred. You will support First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory practices, communicate potential stock-outs, and deliver parts and bins to production teams throughout the facility. In addition, you will operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and hand trucks, maintain a clean and organized warehouse, and perform other duties as assigned.
We are looking for a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and some related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You should be comfortable using basic computer systems, and experience with ERP systems and FIFO inventory methods is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, a customer-service mindset, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities are essential. You should also be able to operate material handling equipment or be willing to learn.
We also appreciate candidates who have prior experience operating forklifts, chain hoists, hand trucks, or other warehouse equipment. Familiarity with manufacturing environments and an understanding of inventory control practices will help you stand out. Pay range: $19.71 – $28.36/hr. (DOE)
Main Responsibilities include the following:

What We Expect from You
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience
One to three months of related experience or training preferred
Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred
Experience working with an ERP system preferred
Familiarity with FIFO inventory management practices preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Basic computer skills
Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts, chain hoists, hand trucks, and similar equipment
Customer-service mindset and ability to support internal production teams
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and use hand and finger dexterity. The employee is also frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This role operates in a manufacturing environment and interacts primarily with internal customers in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as applicable. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally be exposed to humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, heat, cold, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level may be moderately loud at times.
