Bluefors Cryocooler Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Technical Sales Manager to join our growing Sales team. In this high-impact role, you will build and lead relationships with academic and research customers in the quantum technology field while representing cutting-edge cryogenic technologies used by some of the world’s most innovative universities and research laboratories. Your responsibilities will include understanding customer requirements and developing technical solutions that align with their scientific and operational needs. You will communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, demonstrating the value of Bluefors solutions and helping customers understand how our technologies can support their research goals. You will conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations, respond to customer questions, and provide knowledgeable guidance throughout the sales process. You will develop and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships by understanding their challenges, identifying opportunities, and recommending appropriate solutions. You will also serve as an important liaison between Sales and Engineering, sharing customer feedback and market insights that can help inform product development and continuous improvement. In addition, you will support the preparation of technical proposals, customer documentation, and reports, while staying informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitors’ offerings to help maintain Bluefors’ competitive position.
What we expect from you is a technically minded, customer-focused professional with a minimum MSc degree in applied or technical physics, or strong relevant experience in quantum computing or a related field. You should have proven experience in technical sales or sales engineering, preferably involving scientific instrumentation or other highly technical products. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential, as you will regularly translate complex technical information into clear, compelling solutions for a wide range of audiences. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of customer needs from initial discussions through solution development. Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills will help you identify customer opportunities and contribute to achieving sales targets. Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, is required, along with a positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to travel as needed.
We also appreciate candidates with a scientific research or R&D background will stand out, particularly those who understand the challenges faced by researchers working with advanced scientific equipment. Documented experience selling scientific instrumentation or other complex technical solutions is highly valued. Knowledge of cryogenic equipment, and particularly dilution refrigerators, would be a significant advantage and will help you quickly understand our products, customers, and applications. Main responsibilities:
· Understand customer requirements and develop technical solutions that align with their research, technical, and business needs.
· Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences while articulating the value of Bluefors solutions.
· Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer discussions, and provide timely responses to technical inquiries.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with academic, research, and other customers by understanding their challenges and identifying appropriate solutions.
· Serve as a liaison between Sales and Engineering, communicating customer feedback and market insights to support product development and improvement.
· Assist with the preparation of technical proposals, customer documentation, reports, and other sales materials.
· Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitors’ offerings to identify opportunities and maintain a strong competitive position.
· Support long-term technology collaboration with customers in the quantum technology and scientific research communities.
· Travel as needed to meet with customers, attend technical discussions, conduct demonstrations, and support sales activities.
What we expect from you
· Minimum MSc degree in applied or technical physics, or strong relevant experience in quantum computing or a related technical field.
· Proven experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or a closely related customer-facing technical role, preferably involving scientific instrumentation.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information in a clear and engaging manner.
· Strong customer relationship-building skills and the ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
· Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects, customers, and priorities simultaneously.
· Strong problem-solving and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute to achieving sales objectives.
· Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
· Willingness and ability to travel as required by the position.
· Positive, hands-on attitude with a collaborative approach to working with customers and internal teams.
We also appreciate
· Experience in scientific research, R&D, or a research-oriented technical environment.
· Documented experience in technical sales of scientific instrumentation or other complex scientific and engineering products.
· Knowledge of cryogenic equipment and, in particular, dilution refrigerator technology.
· Experience working directly with universities, research laboratories, physicists, engineers, or quantum technology organizations.
· A strong interest in emerging technologies and the ability to stay curious, learn quickly, and understand evolving customer and market needs.
· A collaborative, practical, and solutions-oriented approach consistent with Bluefors’ culture of progress, passion, and cool problem solving.

Salary Range: $105,000 – $130,000 annually, plus bonus

Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and have hand and finger dexterity. The employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. In an office setting, the employee may occasionally, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work environment
This job operates in and out of a professional office environment. This position will have work that may be in an office or manufacturing setting. This position interacts with both internal and external customers in a professional, courteous manner, while keeping information confidential as needed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets and copiers. While in the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; heat; cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud. Mandatory PPE’s must be worn as required.
